Prospectiuni S.A. successfully completed the geophysical data acquisition project in the 3D Spineni area, client OMV Petrom

31/03/2022

The 3D seismic survey for Spineni Project, located in Olt and Arges countries, took place over three months of field operations (November 2021 - January 2022), covering an area of over 500 km2.

OMV-Petrom's Spineni 3D survey is the second major project managed by Prospectiuni SA with the Quantum nodal system from INOVA, one of the newes  and most efficient seismic data aquisition systems in the industry that used independent seismic sensors.

Aiming Client's requirements, a high-resolution subsurface information, Spineni 3D survey requested 75,000 Quantum sensors for the field operations, an amount almost double of Quantum sensors having in mind the previous project.

According to the survey's design, over 156,400 receiver points were deployed aiming different subsurface sampling: a "high density" area, with an average of 550 Quantum nodes per km2, providing an 1850 nominal fold and a "low density" area, with an average of 140 Quantum nodes per km2, achieving a nominal fold of 960, so that was obtained an average density of over 4,1 million traces/km2, and more than one bilion traces at project completion.

The colaboration with the INOVA equipment supplier was essential for the success of the project.

The seismic signal was provided using over 20,500 source points, by explosives for civilian use, most in a single holes up to 8m depth, and by "vibroseis" method using vibrators INOVA Univib 26000 lbs type.

The fulfilment of the contractual requirements was achieved by the permanent monitoring of the technical condition of the Quantum recording equipment, following the approved working procedures and real-time monitoring of the ambiental noise for the recording conditions.

The fleet of vehicles and self-propelled equipments covered over 1,200,000 km without incidents.

Finally, the OMV-Petrom expressed his appreciation for the successful completion of this complex project, in compliance with the contractual requirements and the quality and HSE standards.
